Ndu Ngcobo

Ndu Ngcobo has worked in the print media industry, where she briefly served as the social media manager and then editor for the Cape Town Youth Magazine Live. She is a member of the Golden Key Society and Ph.D. candidate at The Centre for Communication, Media and Society, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Her thesis draws from her masters dissertation which discusses the manner in which two South African fashion designers used graphic t-shirts to construct and convey meaningful messages about lived reality of their consumer. Her thesis seeks to understand the role of fashion and clothing styles as a form of social commentary within the field of material culture. Her interests are not limited to fashion as she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of South Africa (UNISA), while her honours research focused on the Durban and Johannesburg film industry.
