Nickk Hertzog
Nickk Hertzog is an artist and researcher from Melbourne, Australia. He received his Bachelor of fine arts (Hons) and MFA from Monash University. He is currently completing his Ph.D. at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. His Ph.D. research is entitled ‘Contingent meanings: Reframing appropriation in contemporary installation’ and involves a practice-based investigation into the contemporary artistic strategies and implications of repurposed video.
Nickk has exhibited installation works in several artist-run initiatives in Melbourne and his video work, Prayers (2017), was featured in the 2017 program of the West Projection Festival, Melbourne. His work involves video and its installation and deploys combinations of investigations into urban surroundings, strategies of appropriation and the elusive approaches to homage.
