Nicola Foster

Nicola Foster is a senior research fellow in visual art at Southampton Solent University and a research associate at the Open University. Her work focuses on the role of exhibitions, art institutions and the art market in the construction of value that structures gender, ethnicity, racial and cultural hierarchies. She co-edited Differential Aesthetics (2001), and contributed chapters and articles to such publications as Art History and the Senses (2010), and Text and Image in Modern China, and the Journal for Art in Translation, Journal for Art Market Studies, Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, Parallax, Radical Philosophy, British Journal of Aesthetics and Women’s Philosophy Review.
