Nicola Hay
Nicola Hay is an interdisciplinary artist and senior lecturer in illustration, her work combines traditional illustration techniques with digital processes to explore the boundaries of illustration and where it crosses into animation, three-dimensional drawing, and interactive and immersive environments. Her background is in print and digital media, commercial print and web design. Her research and practice predominantly explore the use of traditional media in conjunction with digital media, animation and interactive media, with a keen interest in extended reality and illustration. She curates the Illustrated Menagerie, a collection of illustration works on the theme of animals, and has created four exhibitions alongside this to date. The latest exhibition took place as part of the We Shine festival in November 2022.
