Nicolas Garnier

Nicolas Garnier is curator for the Pacific and Insular South East Asia collections at the musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac in Paris. He was previously Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Papua New Guinea. There he implemented an academic programme on cultural heritage management and an anthropological programme on contemporary artistic expressions in the Pacific. In the last twenty years he has encouraged and supervised the creation and the development of small scale cultural centres and museums throughout PNG. He is currently completing a Habilitation Thesis on PNG contemporary art.
