Nicolás Suárez
Nicolás Suárez received a Ph.D. in literature from Universidad de Buenos Aires, and holds a post-doctoral grant from Conicet. He teaches literary theory at Universidad Nacional de las Artes. His book The Work and Life of Sarmiento in Cinema (Ediciones Ciccus, 2017) won the National Contest of Studies on Argentine Cinema, held by the Argentine National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts. He received the Best Essay Award by a Graduate Student from the Film Section of LASA, and was awarded the First Prize in the Domingo Di Núbila Essay Contest, held by AsAECA in 2018. He studied filmmaking at ENERC, and received a scholarship to study at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastián. He directed the short film Centauro/Centaur (2017) and co-directed the feature film Hijos Nuestros/Our Children (2015), which received awards at festivals in Berlin, Biarritz, Mar del Plata, Málaga and Guadalajara.
Nicolás Suárez es Doctor en Literatura por la Universidad de Buenos Aires y becario postdoctoral del Conicet. Dicta clases de Teoría literaria en la Universidad Nacional de las Artes. Su libro Obra y vida de Sarmiento en el cine (Ediciones Ciccus, 2017) resultó ganador del Concurso de Estudios sobre Cine Argentino del Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales. Recibió el Premio al Mejor Ensayo Publicado por un estudiante de posgrado de la Sección de Cine de LASA y el Premio Domingo Di Núbila al mejor ensayo de AsAECA. Estudió cine en la ENERC y fue becado para estudiar en la Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola de San Sebastián. Dirigió el cortometraje Centauro (2017) y codirigió el largometraje Hijos nuestros (2015), que fueron premiados en los festivales de cine de Berlín, Biarritz, Mar del Plata, Málaga y Guadalajara.
