Nicoletta Mandolini

Nicoletta Mandolini is a Ph.D. candidate at University College Cork. Founded by the Irish Research Council (GOI Postgraduate Scholarship), her project focuses on the representation of gender based violence and feminicide in contemporary Italian narratives. Among various articles on sexist abuse in contemporary Italian women’s writing, she published the article ‘Telling the abuse: A feminist-psychoanalytic reading of gender violence, repressed memory and female subjectivity in Elena Ferrante’s Troubling Love’ in The Works of Elena Ferrante: Reconfiguring the Margins co-edited by G. Russo Bullaro and S. Love (Palgrave, 2016). Her research interests include feminist theory, gender-based violence, Italian women’s writing and transmedial storytelling.
