Nigel Wheale
Nigel Wheale (MA, Ph.D. [Cantab.]) is an independent UK poet and scholar, a graduate of Gonville & Caius College, and research fellow of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He lectured for 30 years, and is author of five textbooks, including Writing and Society: Literacy, Print and Politics in Britain 1590-1660 (Routledge, 1999), and Raw Skies: New and Selected Poems (Shearsman, 2005). He lived in Orkney from 2006 to 2014, and was a care worker throughout the islands during that time.
