Niloofar Mohtadi
Niloofar Mohtadi is an independent researcher, journalist and translator with an MA in dramatic literature from the Faculty of Art and Architecture at the Islamic Azad University in Tehran. She has written for the arts sections of various newspapers and websites including thetheatretimes.com. She is a collaborator on the Digital Guide to Theatre of the Middle East: 21st Century (DGTOME) and participated in an academic research project at Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at the University of Maryland. She has published an academic essay in the Tehran University Honar Haye Ziba (Fine Arts) journal about xenophobia in Shakespeare’s plays and held a solo photography exhibition. She has collaborated with an Iranian disability theatre company, Papion Theatre Group, and was the public relations liaison for the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in Tehran, hosted by Tamashagan Institute of Performing Art. Her research interests include Shakespeare and representations of gender and disability in the theatre.
