Nils Grosch

Nils Grosch holds the chair in musicology at the University of Salzburg, Austria, where he is also head of Department for Art History, Musicology and Dance Studies. He earned his doctorate at the University of Freiburg i. Br. with a dissertation titled ‘Die Musik der Neuen Sachlichkeit’ and completed his habilitation at the University of Basle with a thesis titled ‘Lied und Medienwechsel im 16. Jahrhundert’. He has taught at universities in Basle, Freiburg, Paderborn, Zurich, Detmold and Hanover. His major research interests are music and media, music and migration and musical theatre. Nils co-heads research projects in the fields of music, migration and mobility: musik-und-migration.at and musicmigrationmobility.com.
