Ninke Overbeek

Ninke Overbeek (1986) is an artistic researcher, dramaturg, writer for the stage and teacher of ‘Creative tools for academic writing’ for Artesc, to Ph.D. students at TU Delft. She was a founding member of ‘De Kosmonaut’; House for young writers/new writing between 2011 and 2014. She has written stage-adaptations of literary works (Ulysses, Joyce and Karakter, Bordewijk), poems and several performance texts in Dutch and English. She has published on creative writing for the theatre through the Professorship of Performative Processes (HKU) and her plays were published by ITFB and Buitenkunst. Her work was performed at the Guildhall Graduates programme by STET and at UNAM University in Mexico City. She works as a dramaturg for Theatergroep ECHO (Arnhem, Netherlands) and for Theaterlabor Bielefeld (Germany). For that company, she is involved as writer and dramaturg in the JUSTlab project, in collaboration with Plavo Pozoriste and Teatr Zar/Grotowski Institute Wroclaw, as funded by Creative Europe. She has a BA degree in theatre studies (University Utrecht) and in writing for performance (HKU University of the Arts Utrecht) and an MA degree in comparative cultural analysis (University of Amsterdam).
