Olivia Stowell

Olivia Stowell is a Ph.D. student in communication and media at the University of Michigan, where she studies discourses of race in contemporary popular culture, particularly investigating the construction of racial identities and narratives in reality TV. Her scholarship has appeared in New Review of Film and Television Studies, Television & New Media and the edited volume Feminist Posthumanism in Contemporary Science Fiction Film and Media (Bloomsbury, 2023); her public writing has been published in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Post45 Contemporaries, ASAP/Journal, Avidly Reads and elsewhere.
