Oluwasola Kehinde Olowo-Ake

Oluwasola Kehinde Olowo-Ake is a Nigerian from the Yorùbá ethnic group, born in Lagos State. She moved in 2015 to study fashion design in the United Kingdom and in 2021, completed her master’s degree in interdisciplinary design in Canada. She is a designer of sorts in a place where things roam’. Her design practice focuses on using Yorùbá storytelling methods to speak to issues regarding the Black race in her environment and additionally depict narratives that are befitting of Black bodies – through dance, song, ways of wearing and poetry. She also has a podcast on Spotify named …into words with Sola and is the host of The Writing Circle Project (WCP).
