Osborn Jonathan

Jonathan Osborn is a Toronto-based artist, educator, and researcher whose work investigates choreographic transmission and translation between humans and nonhumans and the staging of real and virtual bodies. Osborn holds a Ph.D. in Dance Studies from York University and his research appears in collections including Narrative in Performance (Bloomsbury, 2018), Zoo Studies: A New Humanities (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2019), and Animals in Narrative Film and Television (Rowman & Littlefield, 2022). His most recent choreographic works focus on the interaction between human and nonhuman bodies in cultural forums including zoos, gardens, museums, and archives. Osborn is currently contract academic faculty at York University and working on a Canada Council for the Arts supported choreographic work that examines the movement of bodies in analog and digital animation created over the last century. www.jonathanosborn.com
