Paolo Somigli

Paolo Somigli, Ph.D. in musicology, is Master of Arts with a thesis in music history and graduate in piano. His research topics include the relationship between tradition and contemporaneity, Italian reception of twelve-tone technique, song in Italy since the 1930s, pedagogy and music education. In 2013 he completed a study on music in South Tyrol together with the sociologist Ilaria Riccioni. In 2019 he edited a volume about twentieth-century music in educational perspective and in 2023 he edited the publication Classical Music in Education (LIM, 2023) at the end of an international research project he conducted in 2019–23. He is editor-in-chief of Musica Docta: Rivista digitale di Pedagogia e Didattica della Musica.
