Patrick Anderson
Patrick Anderson is a professor in the departments of communication and ethnic studies at the University of California, San Diego, and a 2023 Guggenheim fellow. He is the author of So Much Wasted and Autobiography of a Disease (Duke University Press, 2010), and the co-editor (with Jisha Menon) of Violence Performed (Palgrave, 2009). With Nicholas Ridout, he co-edits the Performance Works book series at Northwestern University Press. His most recent book, The Lamentations: A Requiem for Queer Suicide, is forthcoming in 2024 from Fordham University Press. He is currently writing two books: one on police violence and performance theory, and one on the early history of HIV/AIDS activism and the origins of performance studies.
