Paul Williams

Paul Williams is an associate professor of twentieth-century literature and culture at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. In addition to book chapters and articles published in journals such as American Literary History, American Quarterly, Journal of American Studies, Science Fiction Studies, Studies in the Novel and Textual Practice, he has written four books: The US Graphic Novel (Edinburgh University Press, 2022), Dreaming the Graphic Novel: The Novelization of Comics (Rutgers University Press, 2020), Paul Gilroy (Routledge, 2012) and Race, Ethnicity and Nuclear War (Liverpool University Press, 2011). He co-edited the collection The Rise of the American Comics Artist: Creators and Contexts (University Press of Mississippi, 2010) with James Lyons. He is currently writing a book on minicomics and photocopying.
