Performing Collaboration in Solo Performance - Book Launch!

Intellect is pleased to announce the launch of the new book Performing Collaboration in Solo Performance!

The launch will be held on Tuesday 7 March from 6:30-8 pm at the University of Goldsmith, London.

Performing Collaboration in Solo Performance provides an investigation grounded in creative writing and practice-as-research methodology and explores the issues of authorship and collaborative labour in contemporary performance. This investigation is set in the context of a world more and more characterized by fragmentation, displacement and virtual communication and relationships. It addresses and playfully engages with the following questions: what is a collaborative body? Can a sole performer carry out a collaborative practice? Can we stand in for others? What forms of “coming-together” might take place when distance remains between those who perform and those who spectate?

Editor Chloé Déchery joins collaborators Mary Peterson, Diana Damien Martin and Karen Christopher at a round-table talk hosted by Clare Finburgh Delijani. More information about the event can be found here:

Also by Intellect, collaborators Mary Peterson and Karen Christopher edited Entanglement of Two: A Series of Duets, which focused on the particulars of working in twos, the duo as a microcosm of humankind and the everyday entanglement of form and practice seen through the lens of the smallest multiple unit.
