Peter Varley

Peter Varley taught consumer studies for over ten years at Manchester Metropolitan University before moving to the Highlands of Scotland where he established both the School of Adventure Studies and the Centre for Recreation and Tourism Research. He is now Professor of Consumer Behaviour and Rural Tourism at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Key research interests currently include non-places and the experience of nature, philosophies of camping, and the politics of gastronomy and disgust.
