Phillip Stenmann Baun is a Ph.D. student from Aarhus University, Denmark. In his main doctoral research project, he uses data from 4chan’s /pol/-board to investigate how the far-right engage in memory work and uses history in online communication. The project synthesizes insights from far-right studies, memory studies and digital humanities, and employs methods from natural language processing and machine learning. Phillip has published work on the Christchurch-shooter’s historiography, how the Ukrainian war is contested on the far-right as well as how the use of digital methods can be used to study digital memory.
