Pinar Aykaç

Pınar Aykaç is a conservation architect with a M.Sc. in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the Middle East Technical University. She holds a Ph.D. from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, where she explored the transformation of the Sultanahmet district into a museum area. She has been involved in various conservation projects in Turkey including the Presidential Atatürk Museum Pavilion Conservation Project and the Commagene-Nemrut Conservation and Development Programme. Her research interests include the role of museums in urban regeneration and heritage politics. She was a Weinberg Fellow at Columbia University’s Italian Academy during the fall semester of 2017–18. She is currently an assistant professor at Middle East Technical University’s Department of Architecture.
