Poppy Wilde

Dr Poppy Wilde is a lecturer in media and communication at Birmingham City University. Her work focuses on what it means and how it feels to be posthuman, by exploring how posthuman subjectivities are enabled and embodied. Current research projects explore posthuman subjectivity in a variety of contexts, through gaming, zombie studies, makeover television, music artists and death. She has a keen interest in the performance of self in digital cultures, posthumanism, cybercultures, immersive media, game studies, embodiment, performance in online contexts and the lived experience in research methods.
