Radha Dalal

Radha Dalal is an assistant professor of Islamic art at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She researches the visual cultures of mobility and urbanism, focusing on the Ottoman Empire and its sociopolitical interactions with other European and Asian polities during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is currently project director on a major Qatar National Priorities Research Program grant titled ‘Museums in the 21st Century and Global Art History’. She is also a grant recipient of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Presidential Research Quest Fund for a book project titled ‘The Khilafat Movement and Print Media in British India and Ottoman Turkey, 1919–1924’.
