Rasem Badran

Rasem Badran is an architect based in Jordan. His approach emphasizes dialogue between contemporary needs and inherited cultural values. Badran founded his design firm, Dar Al-Omran, in 1981. In 1995 he received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for his work on the Grand Mosque and Justice Palace of Riyadh and the Redevelopment of Riyadh’s Old City Centre. Badran has received the Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Lifetime Achievement in Mosque Architecture (2016), the Nile Award for ‘The Most Creative Arab Personality’ (2019), and the Tamayouz Lifetime Achievement Award (2019) for his outstanding contributions to the built environments of the Near East and North Africa.
