Razan Francis

Razan Francis is a visiting faculty member at Bennington College. She received her Ph.D. in History, Theory and Criticism of Architecture and Art from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her work centres on the visual culture of the Islamic world with a focus on Iberia and the Mediterranean. In support of her research, she has received grants from the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery in Washington, DC, the Social Science Research Council, and the American Association of University Women. She has taught at Northeastern University and Furman University.
