Reba A. Wissner

Reba A. Wissner is on the music history faculty of Montclair State University, New York University, Westminster Choir College, and Ramapo College of New Jersey, and the film and media studies faculty of Rider University. She received her MFA and Ph.D. in musicology from Brandeis University and her BA in music and Italian from Hunter College of the City University of New York. She is the author of several articles and has presented her research at conferences throughout the United States and Europe. She is a recipient of numerous awards and grants including a dissertation research grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Her research interests are seventeenth-century Venetian opera, music and politics, music and immigration, popular music, and the role of music in 1950s and 1960s science fiction television. She is currently participating in several book projects in which some of her research on music in The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits will appear. She is the author of two monographs, A Dimension of Sound: Music in The Twilight Zone and We Will Control All That You Hear: The Outer Limits and the Aural Imagination.
