Rebecca Bauman
Rebecca Bauman is an associate professor of Italian at the Fashion Institute of Technology, SUNY, where she teaches in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures as well as in the programme in Film, Media and Performing Arts. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on masculinity in contemporary Italian cinema, mafia films, and film and television melodrama in such publications as Italian Studies and the Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies. She is a frequent lecturer in the New York City area on contemporary and classical Italian film and is film and digital media reviews editor for Italian American Review. Her research interests include mafia studies, fashion culture, film genre, masculinity studies and youth television in Italy. She is currently preparing a monograph on representations of mafia fashion in popular culture.
