Rebecca Heaton
Rebecca Heaton is an assistant professor in visual and performing arts at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. She disseminates research internationally concerning cognition, art, technology and education and is involved in the development of national and international art education curricular content, particularly in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Her recent publications include ‘Managing cognitive dissonance in art teacher education’ (2023) in Cambridge Journal of Education, ‘A visual inquiry exploring artist–teacher perceptions of art education provision in Singapore’ (2022) in Studies in Art Education and ‘Cognition in art education’ (2021) published in the British Educational Research Journal. Rebecca supervises doctoral and master’s students critically engaging with pedagogies and curricular connected to art, education and their interdisciplinary and intercultural experiences and systems.
