Riad Kherdeen
Riad Kherdeen is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History of Art at the University of California, Berkeley and holds an MA in the History of Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Specializing in global modern art and architecture, with a focus on West Asia and North Africa, his research interests include comparative and planetary modernisms, postcolonial studies and critical theory, aesthetics and philosophy of art, technical art history, cognitive science, and ecocriticism. He was a Mellon Curatorial Fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2019 and is currently conducting fieldwork in Morocco for his dissertation project with the support of a long-term grant from the American Institute of Maghreb Studies.
