Rikke Toft Nørgård

Rikke Toft Nørgård holds an M.A. (Mag.art.) and is currently a Ph.D. fellow in the Department of Information and Media Studies at Aarhus University. Her Ph.D. project on the experience and activity of gaming examines the intertwined connections between the gamers’ corporeal, digital and communicative practices in order to establish the dimension of corporeal locomotion in fine motor computer games as a significant dimension in its own right. This is done through empirically observing and analytically exploring gamers’ corporeal-locomotive practices across different fine motor/gross motor computer games as well as theoretically developing the intertwined concepts of ‘corporeal digitality’ and ‘digital corporeality’ in order to establish a theoretical framework for the corporeal-digital particularity of the gaming experience and activity. Her Master’s dissertation [forskningsspeciale] is on the ontology of computer games and is titled ‘Actual practice: On the foundation of humanities research in computer games’.
