Rina Bernabei
Rina Bernabei is currently a senior lecturer in the Industrial Design programme at University of New South Wales. Prior to this she has been employed in design studios in Sydney and Milan, her lighting and furniture design work has won international awards and been exhibited and published locally and internationally. In 2003 with Kelly Freeman she co-founded bernabeifreeman; a lighting/furniture company that received wide acclaim nationally and internationally. Their work explores creating products that connect with the end user through emotional attachment – such as personalization in product design and questioning the relationship between digital design, fabrication and traditional craft.
