Rita Costa
Rita Costa’s academic path is marked with a bachelor’s degree in plastic arts – painting and intermedia at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (2014) and a master’s degree in multimedia at the University of Porto (2016). As a bachelor’s student, she participated in the #10 Collective Exhibition of Plastic Arts – Painting and Intermedia at the Center for Art and Image in Tomar. As a master’s student, she participated in the Future Places Festival as a tutor for the citizen lab Image Symphony for Citizens and in the exhibition The Revolution Will Not Be Televised with the work ‘Shelter’ at Maus-Hábitos (2015). She has also collaborated with researchers from the Dr. Ricardo Jorge Institute on the production of multimedia supports for pedagogical purposes. On her professional path, she collaborated with WEE – World Entertainment Events where she was responsible for designing and simulating 3D environments for event proposals. In 2019, she participated in the seventh EPRAE with a work entitled Quiet Dialogs Art Experience on the Public Space of Santo Tirso and she organized a student-oriented seminar entitled Why So Serious? at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança to promote research areas including serious games. She began collaboration with INESC TEC in 2018, where she gives support in design, video, photography and animation. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto and a visiting assistant professor for digital culture and critics and analysis of games at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.
