Robert S. Carlisle

Robert Carlisle is a professor in the Department of English at California State University, Bakersfield where he teaches classes in linguistics and folklore including the structure of English, sociolinguistics, syntax, international folk literature, and the vampire in folklore, literature and film. On his campus he also serves as the coordinator of the English Graduate Program and the Faculty Director of Online Education and Assessment. Dr. Carlisle conducts research in linguistics, composition, and folklore, his findings appearing in journals such as Applied Linguistics, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Language Learning, International Journal of English Studies and Alberta History.
