Robin Balliger

Robin Balliger is an associate professor and Chair of ‘Art, Place, and Public Studies’ at the San Francisco Art Institute. She is a cultural anthropologist whose current project focuses on arts, culture and racial politics in the context of urban restructuring in Oakland, California, with a forthcoming article in Art and Gentrification in the Changing Neoliberal Landscape. Balliger previously conducted research in Trinidad on popular music, media and identity formation in national/transnational space, with articles in The Global Resistance Reader, Trinidad Carnival: The Cultural Politics of a Transnational Festival, and Media Fields Journal.
