Roland Buckingham-Hsiao

Roland Buckingham-Hsiao is an artist, researcher and Quaker chaplain based in the United Kingdom and Taiwan. His artistic practice investigates the boundaries of language, often via east–west cultural exchange. He studied art at universities in Canterbury, Belfast and London, and Mandarin and Chinese calligraphy at universities in Taichung and Shaoxing. He has exhibited artworks at many museums and galleries around the world, including Tate Britain and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. He is currently engaged in practice-based doctoral research at the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom.
