Rolf Werenskjold

Rolf Werenskjold is professor of media studies at Faculty of Media and Journalism at Volda University College, Norway. He teaches media studies and media history. He is a historian and media scholar who has published several studies on media and protests during the year 1968, modern American history, Norwegian media and the Spanish Civil War, Norwegian newsreels in the 1930s, and Norwegian foreign news journalism during the Cold War. His latest book is Media and the Cold War in the 1980s: Between Star Wars and Glasnost (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), which he edited with Henrik G. Bastiansen and Martin Klimke. Werenskjold is a member of the Norwegian National Board of Media Studies. He is currently a member of the European research programme Cost Action: New Exploratory Phase in Research on East European Cultures of Dissent.
