Rose N. Kimani

Rose N. Kimani is a lecturer in communication and media at Chuka University, Kenya. Her current focus is development communication, broadcast and digital media. She completed her Ph.D. in media studies at Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), Bayreuth, Germany. Her research explored Kenyan community radio and how various actors participate in it, including how audiences appropriate content and navigate relationships with the radio stations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and media technology from Maseno University, Kenya, and a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Apart from an academic career, she has administrative and radio production experience. Her research interests include media in development, digital media, audience studies and the political economy of media.
