Rossella Catanese
Rossella Catanese is a research associate at the Department of Humanities and Communication Studies, University of Tuscia (Viterbo, Italy) and an adjunct professor at NYU Florence. Her publications focus on film history, avant-garde and film restoration. Her articles have been published in the journals NECSUS, The Moving Image, Fata Morgana, La valle dell’Eden, Arabeschi, among others. She has authored the books Lacune binarie: Il restauro dei film e le tecnologie digitali (Bulzoni, 2013) and Bill Morrison, ‘Decasia: The State of Decay’: L’alchimia della rovina (Mimesis, 2023). She has edited the collections Futurist Cinema: Studies on Italian Avant-garde Film (Amsterdam University Press, 2018) and From Sensation to Synaesthesia in Film and New Media (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2019) co-edited with F. S. Lavina and V. Valente. She is also associate editor of the journal Cinergie, and serves on the editorial committee of Schermi and as probationer for Italian Association for the Research on Film History (AIRSC).
