Ruhanie Perera

Ruhanie Perera is a performer and theatre-maker based in Sri Lanka. She is a lecturer in the Department of English, University of Colombo. Most recently, she held the post of curator, education and public programmes at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka, launched in December 2019. Her two solo performances Inscribing Her, performed at Theertha Performance Platform (Colombo, 2015) and International Art Critics’ Association Seminar (Colombo, 2013), and Somewhere Between Truth and Its Telling, performed at Stranger Than Fiction (London, 2012), and presented as an archived video work at the exhibition one hundred thousand small tales (Dhaka, 2018 and Colombo, 2019) reflect her ongoing preoccupation in working with performance, embodiment and the lived experience of women.
