Russell J. A. Kilbourn

Russell J. A. Kilbourn is Professor of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. Dr Kilbourn publishes on memory, film, comparative studies, critical posthumanism and postsecular cinema. His books include The Cinema of Paolo Sorrentino: Commitment to Style (Wallflower/Columbia University Press, 2020), W.G. Sebald’s Postsecular Redemption: Catastrophe with Spectator (Northwestern University Press, 2018; edited by R. Kilbourn and E. Ty), The Memory Effect: The Remediation of Memory in Literature and Film (Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2013) and Cinema, Memory, Modernity: The Representation of Memory from the Art Film to Transnational Cinema (Routledge, 2010). He is one of the founders of the Posthumanism Research Network (Brock University and Wilfrid Laurier), associate editor at Interconnections: Journal of Posthumanism and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies. His latest book is Feminist Posthumanism in Contemporary Science Fiction Film and Media: From Annihilation to High Life and Beyond (Bloomsbury, 2023; edited by R. Kilbourn and J. Empey).
