Rustum Roy
Rustum Roy (deceased) was author of over 600 articles in the hard sciences and a leading materials scientist in ceramics and other materials. He founded the Materials Research Society and is a senior member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, but he has also promoted and practiced interdisciplinarity and integrative learning. An architect of the Science, Technology and Society (STS) movement, Roy was also involved in reforming religious institutions, locally, nationally and worldwide. In addition to the hard sciences, he wrote on science policy, sexual ethics, radioactive waste management and liturgies for small groups.
