Saayan Chattopadhyay

Saayan Chattopadhyay is Assistant Professor and Head of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Baruipur College, affiliated to Calcutta University, Kolkata, India. After a stint as a journalist, he is currently engaged in research relating to the postcolonial media, gender and technoculture in India. He has published articles in South Asia Research, Studies in South Asian Film and Media, Journalism Practice, Journal of Contemporary Literature, Sarai Reader, Journal of Boyhood Studies, among others. He has also contributed chapters in books on media and communication, published from Sussex Academic Press, IGI Global, Springer, Palgrave Macmillan and others. His research interests include journalism studies, South Asian masculinities, performative theory, new media and gender.
