Sabine Zahn

Sabine Zahn studied journalism and theatre studies at Leipzig University, received her diploma at Scuola Teatro Dimitri and was a guest student in Master of Choreography at HZT Berlin. Different somatic practices accompany and sustain how she develops choreographic works and collaborates with other artists and people. Focusing on urban environments, she explores how urban practice and working with urban contexts can be reformulated through an aesthetic body practice. She often works with spatial planners/architects, deeply values transdisciplinary collaboration and is intrigued by creating ways to articulate these processes through mappings and notations. Her research could evolve through various grants/production funding from the Berlin Senate. She teaches at universities in the field of urbanism, cultural studies and dance (like at KABK The Hague, Witten Herdecke, HZT Berlin), has been part of Areal_Berlin since 2011 and is a research fellow at DAS Research AHK Amsterdam since 2021.
