Sally Pearce

Sally Pearce is a third year Ph.D. by practice student based at Wolverhampton University, researching women’s auto-ethnographic animation practice. Her short animated and mixed media films have screened at festivals in cities around the world, including, for instance, Annecy, Shanghai, Uppsala, Chicago and St Louis, winning a number of awards, including a BAFTA. Since 2009 she has been working on her long form mixed media documentary project Chernobyl Journey. She has delivered academic papers at conferences in the Netherlands, Istanbul and Lisbon as well as many in the UK. Most recently she has given papers at the Society of Animation Studies Annual Conference (2021, Tulane University, New Orleans); the Animation Practice as Research Symposium (2021, Manchester); and at the Ecstatic Truth 5 2020: ‘The Age of the Absurd’ Symposium, in association with UnderThe_Radar Festival, Vienna. In 2021 she had two articles accepted for publication.
