Salvatore Scifo is the editor of this journal, Interactions: Studies in Communication and Culture. He is a senior lecturer in social media and communication at the Department of Communication and Journalism, Faculty of Media and Communication, Bournemouth University. He is a member of the university’s Centre for Media History and an associate member of the Centre for the Study of Journalism, Culture and Community. He is the Vice Chair of the ECREA Radio Research section and a member of the Advisory Board of European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA). From 2016 to July 2019 he was the Co-Chair of the Community Communication and Alternative Media section and a member of the International Council of the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR). At the time of writing he is co-editing a thematic issue on Community Media and Sustainability for the Journal of Alternative and Community Media with Andrew O’Baoill (National University of Ireland, Galway).
