Sam Duffy

Sam Duffy is currently a research associate at The Knowledge Lab, part of the UCL Institute of Education. Her research interests include music education and social music making, the impact that can be achieved through music in a community and how technology can be used to transform these interactions. After completing her doctoral degree at Queen Mary University of London in 2015, Sam was part of the team that developed ‘Steve Reich’s Clapping Music App’. The associated research and outreach work in schools won the ‘Involve’ award for Public Engagement at the Queen Mary Engagement and Enterprise Awards in 2017. She has collaborated with a number of orchestras and music organisations including Aldeburgh Music, The London Sinfonietta and the London Symphony Orchestra’s Outreach programme, LSO Discovery.
