Sarah Courtis
Dr Sarah Courtis, Ph.D. (Murdoch University, Western Australia) is a lecturer of University Preparation Pathways and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She also teaches at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and is a member of the Australian Music Theatre Roundtable. Her past publications have focused on race and diaspora (in the Journal of Postcolonial Writing and Journal of Intercultural Studies) and her research and teaching interests have an equity and justice lens. Her research focus is the lyrics in musical theatre, and most recently she has been investigating the intersection of lyrics with race theory, disability studies and queer theory. She works professionally as a stage manager and actor, including in the comedy award-winning Bogan Shakespeare production of Julius Caesar.
