Sevi Bayraktar
Sevi is a Ph.D. student in culture and performance at UCLA. Her Ph.D. research links dance and political philosophy involving an enquiry on traditional dances in the contemporary social protests in Turkey. She completed her BA in political science and MA in sociology at Bogazici University, Istanbul. She is a dancer, who has travelled several countries, facilitating dance workshops in her critical pedagogy and exploring the relationship between dance and cultural politics.
