Shabtai Pinchevsky

Shabtai Pinchevsky is a photographer and digital media artist – born in London in 1986 and grew up in Israel. Last year he received the Gerard Levi Prize for a Young Photographer, given by the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. He has presented works in various exhibitions in Israel, including two solo exhibitions: Gas, Stun, Smoke (2017, Gallery of Photographic Communications Department, Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem) and Perpetual Motion of the Fourth Kind (Rea Photography Gallery, Tel Aviv). He is currently an MFA candidate at the Art, Theory & Practice programme at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA.

Acquaintance was made with Miki Kratsman when he was head of the Photography Department at the Bezalel Academy, and Shabtai moved from Architecture to the Photography Department. Shabtai served as Miki’s academic assistant during a seminar in collaboration with Forensic Architecture, Goldsmiths, University of London. From that work they have developed the methodology applied in the presented project.
