Shane Butler
Shane Butler is the Nancy H. and Robert E. Hall professor in the humanities at Johns Hopkins University. He is the author, editor or co-editor of seven books. Of these, his most recent monograph is The Ancient Phonograph (Zone, 2015), and his most recent edited volume is Sound and the Ancient Senses (Routledge, 2019), co-edited with Sarah Nooter.
